Thompson Motorsports Welcomes 2 new Crewmembers

Two major changes to the TMS Team for 2010 were announced on Thursday, 4 Jan.

The well known, and highly respected Charlie Wilson, will assume the position of Crew Chief for Brett Thompson’s racing operations. Craig Nemes brings his extensive background to TMS and will assume the position of Crew Chief for Local Customer Race Car Services.

Charlie Wilson brings his 40 years of experience to TMS. His extensive resume includes a stint as Crew Chief with Kevin Harvick Racing as well as a NASCAR GN Championship with Lynch Racing. Charlie takes the position of previous Crew Chief, Lonnie Rush who’s departure was driven by a wish to pursue other opportunities closer to his home. TMS is thankful for Lonnie’s help, his exceptional engineering work, and his efforts in a TMS top 5 points finish for 2009. At TMS, we all wish Lonnie well.

Craig Nemes brings a remarkable background to both the TMS NASCAR Programs and to the TMS in-house Customer Cars. In short, Craig’s resume includes employment with the Brendan Gaughan, Bobby Hamilton, and Kevin Harvick Racing Operations. TMS is confident that their Customers will be well served by Craig and his very high level background and experience.

Craig replaces the excellent Customer Car Crew Chief, Shane Prince. Shane’s amicable departure, and his move from TMS, was driven by a desire to advance to a Supervisory/Management opportunity. TMS wishes the very best to Shane.

In an important footnote to this release, it should be noted that Charlie Wilson and Craig Nemes have worked together in their prior positions at the above mentioned NC based NASCAR Teams. Having both of them together at TMS, working in similar positions, has produced a Synergism of expertise; one that is clearly beneficial for both TMS and their Customers.

In acquiring the services of Charlie Wilson and Craig Nemes, combined with the 2009 hiring of master car builder Aaron Brown, TMS is convinced that both their NASCAR Program, as well as their Customers racing operations, will be greatly enhanced for 2010 and beyond. TMS is now able to offer its Customer base an unparalleled level of expertise for this region.
