Hannah Newhouse Nets 3rd in First Dirt Race

16-year old Hannah Newhouse from Twin Falls, Idaho just competed in her first race on dirt this past weekend in the ASA Pro Truck Series at Atomic Speedway.

She quickly adapted to the challenging surface qualifying among the top five and finished second in her heat race. During the 30-lap feature event, Newhouse worked he way from the back of the field and finished third in the RTTI/Mr.Gas Pro Truck.

“That may have been the most fun I have ever had in the truck,” Newhouse said after the race. “These truck are so fun to drive anyway but on dirt it was really cool sliding it through the corners. I would love to do that again.”

Newhouse closed the gap in the point standings after the Atomic event. She is now just four points out the top spot in the second position with seven races to go in the championship.

Newhouse has also had a stellar rookie campaign in the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series where she is currently fifth in the point standings. In three starts this season she has two top five finishes and a ninth place performance. She also finished 14th in the Southern Idaho 200 June 15.
